The way we communicate is forever changing.

In this day and age we’re much more likely to pass a quick email than we are to make a phone call half the time. Often this is due to the fact that we have something to say, but wish to not actually speak with the person to save time.  I guess we’re able to have our cake and eat it too.

Then there’s the way we communicate via phone. Are you chatting on a cordless in your living room, or more likely talking  on-the-go through your cell phone? Well, if you resemble the general American population, you’re taking advantage of your mobile phone most of the time. This is considered the “norm” now days. Even when you’re standing in your kitchen, you’re likely to be talking on your cellular telephone. It may sound odd, but it’s the way we currently do things. And this is why our world is flooded with mobile phone offers galore. We’ve replaced the land lines. Some people don’t even have a land line any more.

After chatting with a T-Mobile representative in the local mall yesterday, I noticed something. Everyone wants to get you locked in. They count on your contract deals more than anything. Hey, think about that; the longer they can get you locked into one of their contracts, the less competition they have to worry about. This is where the mobile phone offers and deals come into play. Sure they’ll give you a new Razr or high-tech cell phone for virtually nothing if you’re willing to sign on for three years. What have they got to lose? It doesn’t cost them anything. They will make plenty of dough off of you over the next few years. This is how mobile phone offers are played out. They need your devotion to make cash.

For some of us, routine mobile phone offers are useless. I have no desire to sign on with Verizon for two years just so I can acquire a free 250 dollar phone. I am one of the few who hardly ever use a cellular phone. For people like myself it makes more sense to purchase a Go phone or pay-as-you-go mobile phone. This way you can simply pay for the minutes you actually use. None of that wheeling and dealing is necessary.
